Titanium is 40% stronger and 40% lighter than stainless steel. Titanium's corrosion resistance is due to instant formation of an oxide film when the surface is exposed to air or moisture (specifically, oxygen molecules). This oxide film is extremely stable and protective. This is due to titanium’s ability to polarize easily, meaning it tends to equalize the electron flow between two metals, and is therefore unaffected. Titanium hose clamps feature a high strength 1/2" wide band specifically engineered to allow for the highest torque rating possible. The rolled edges of the band allow for smooth application of the clamp and prevents chaffing or tearing of the hose upon tightening. We have incorporated the thickest housing material possible to ensure stability of the screw under operation. The screw comes with a 5/16" Hex Head and also accepts Phillips head screwdrivers.
